A view into my life through creative writing
Why do I consider this to be my best essay?
In my opinion, what makes this my best piece in my mind is the story that it tells. The moments described in the writing have significant meaning to me and who I was. I also value the events that took place during the travels I took on this tour, from meeting the two guys from Texas to running into my roommate in Maine. Even the show itself, with the first instance of the glow-stick wars that followed at many of their shows, was the driving force behind my free-spirit that I try to hold on to, at least in memory.
Along with the personal attachment, I feel that this piece demonstrates more of my developing talents, in regards to grammar and common write mistakes – punctuation, fragments, and other items that are similar. Even though some of my essays may have had less initial errors, this piece is more of a complete story, taking the reader in a full circle, like the path I traveled. Also, the number of initial errors upon writing the first draft of this piece made it a learning tool that aided in my progress.
Overall, I feel like this writing is the most complete of the writings I have done this semester and fully forms the image that I want the reader to see. I also feel this to be one of my favorite writings, because of the personal nature, but I cannot have this essay in both categories. Last, but not least, I hope the reader takes away a sense of adventure, and either remembers a daring trip they took once before or aspires to take one in the future. For me, it was the best thing I could do for myself.
